(code 77) | | Derek is an affectionate, social, and engaging toddler who wakes up happy in the morning ready to explore explore the world. If we have grandparents staying with us, as we often do, the first thing he wants to do is go to their room to crawl in bed with them and tickle them. Another favorite first activity is going to play with our dogs, Dunya and Paddy.
Derek loves animals and the outdoors, and one of his "Mommy and Me" preschool classes takes place a half mile down the road from us at a farm with a hayloft full of arts and crafts activities and plenty of goats, sheep, donkeys, chickens (and a pig named Olivia) to get to know and learn to care for. Derek also loves music and books, and will be able to sing and recite a whole repertoire of nursery rhymes and songs to a new baby!
Derek's favorite activity right now is giving out hugs--to us, to his grandmas and grandpas, and last but not least, to Paddy and Dunya (our chickens won't let him get near enough). Derek will be a wonderful big brother, and has some extra gentle, special hugs waiting for his new brother or sister. |
