Our Home and Neighborhood

We are lucky to be part of a loving extended family, and a great neighborhood and community.  We live in Napa, California, about 50 miles north of San Francisco. Napa is a small, friendly town in the midst of a countryside full of vineyards--a wonderful area for hiking, biking, and picnicking! Our house is close to good schools, an animal farm, and four parks, including one specially for toddlers. We live in a cozy house with a huge yard, and we spend much of our time outside: gardening, barbecuing, and enjoying the beautiful Napa weather.

We both love to garden, and have been getting closer and closer to being able to organically grow all the produce we eat, from tomatoes to herbs, and potatoes to garlic. We have also been busy planting fruit trees: apple, lime, orange, plum, and fig--at least for starters!

OUR FAMILY 

We are very close to our extended family, and we love to spend time with them, celebrating holidays and birthdays, vacationing together, and enjoying lots of delicious meals we cook together. Everyone in the family is very excited about having a grandchild/ nephew or niece to spoil. Given the way they spoil our dogs (the "Granddogs"), this should be something special!

Karen's parents live an hour away in Davis, California, in the same house in which she grew up. She has a sister and brother-in-law close by in Sacramento, and another sister and nieces and nephews in Washington. Jeff's parents live in eastern Washington, and his brother in New Orleans; we visit each other often.
